Gnocchi with Brown Butter and Sage Sauce | Recipe | Quick & Easy | Budget Friendly

I always keep a package of precooked gnocchi in the cupboard for those nights where there is no time to cook.  This is such a simple recipe that takes 10 minutes start to finish.

Disclaimer: I know that home-made gnocchi are better and I will post that recipe another day.  But this is for one of those crazy, busy nights where you need dinner on the table right away.

Gnocchi with Brown Butter and Sage Sauce Recipe
Yields: 2 portions

1 package precooked gnocchi, such as Gia Russa
4 Tbsp butter
8-10 sage leaves, thinly sliced
Salt and pepper to taste
Grated Parmigiano-Reggiano, if desired

1. While the water boils, melt butter over Medium heat in an 8 to 10 saute pan and continue cooking until the white milk solids in the butter have browned.  Remove from heat.  Add sage to the butter and stir.

2. Add gnocchi to boiling water.  As soon as gnocchi rise to the top, using a wire skimmer, remove from pot and add to the sauce.  Coat gnocchi completely with the sauce.  Season with salt and pepper.  Sprinkle with Parmigiano-Reggiano.
